XR in the OR: XR ALIF training simulation in the real operating room

The newly launched XR ALIF has made its anticipated debut in the operating room (OR), christening a beautiful encounter behind a successful project. The course of the ‘Spine Surgeon Fellows’ #SFCRFellowship2024 at Montpellier University Hospital in the Neurosurgery department has ended in good spirits, with VirtualiSurg’s newly launched XR ALIF created for Johnson & Johnson Medtech through ETHICON, being used in the real operating room that is the Pôle Neurosciences Tête et Cou du CHU de Montpellier for knowledge transmission and surgical training.
In dedication to surgical pedagogical learning, we can marvel today, at the scale of access we have provided – to proper, urgently-needed training, with the potential to reach larger scales than ever before. Real impact and actual learning can be gained from an immersion in virtual reality. For the surgery of the lumbar anterior approach, we are training surgeons with a true-to-life digital twin to navigate such a complex procedure like never before.
Watch this space for VirtualiSurg updates coming your way.
